Zale Seck, a luminary in Senegalese music, is a maestro of diverse rhythms. Born and raised in a griot family in Dakar, his musical journey began amidst the bustling streets of the capital, where the vibrant pulse of Senegalese life infused his soul with an insatiable passion for melody. During his music career in Senegal, Seck performed with the legendary groups Orchestra Baobab and L’Étoile 2000 de Dakar. He became an important figure in the Senegalese music scene as he started his solo career. In 1992, he released his first album Mandu and went on to release six more albums, his latest release, Africa Yewouléne, in 2023.
