UpFRONT Festival: Semiah

Named an “artist to watch” by SheBOPS Zine (USA), Semiah enters 2026 on the heels of a breakout year. Their sophomore EP LVR GRL was picked up by AWAL, earned a Dora Award for outstanding composer, and gained international attention at Sweden’s VIVA Sounds Festival and Finland’s Skábmagovat Festival. Blending synth-laced hyperpop with intimate singer-songwriter confessionals and Haudenosaunee influences, Semiah creates music that is bold, emotional, and deeply personal. New tracks from LVR GRL include the Eternal Sunshine-inspired anthem “Clementine” and the defiant acoustic finale “DED 2 ME,” mixed by Juno Award-winner Gus van Go. Following performances alongside Aysanabee and Jully Black, and acclaim from CBC Radio, SiriusXM, and Indigenous TV, Semiah continues to captivate audiences with joyful, magnetic live performances that leave crowds wanting more. This is a free event. All are welcome to celebrate Indigenous artists and culture as part of the UpFRONT Festival.
