UpFRONT Festival: Mimi O’Bonsawin (on Scott Street)

Mimi O’Bonsawin (pronounced MEE-MEE O-BON-SA-WIN) is a contemporary roots singer-songwriter from Northeastern Ontario and a member of Odanak First Nation. Of French Canadian and W8banaki (Abénaki) heritage, Mimi creates rhythm and story-driven songs that celebrate the beauty and spirit of the land. Blending uplifting melodies, introspective lyrics, and acoustic instrumentation with pop sensibilities, her music draws audiences into a rich and immersive soundscape layered with percussion, unexpected harmonies, and warmth.
