Agneya is an Indo-Canadian percussionist and composer whose work explores rhythm as a meeting place between cultures. Raised in western India and now based in Toronto, he brings together South Asian rhythmic cycles, West African groove traditions and contemporary jazz improvisation into a sound that is visceral, expansive and deeply human.
His eponymous debut album AGNEYA (2026) marks his emergence as a bandleader after more than a decade as a sought-after collaborator across jazz, global and improvised music scenes. Produced by JUNO Award winner Jeremy Ledbetter and featuring an international ensemble, the project reflects an artistic journey spanning India, Canada and Europe.
