Summer Live Music Series: Marta Elena

Celebrated for her vocal power and dynamic stage presence, Marta Elena is an accomplished composer, percussionist & bandleader. She belongs to the younger generation of Cuban musicians who honour their Afro-Latin roots while seeking new expressions of the musical traditions that course through the veins of the island nation. Now based in Toronto, Marta has been invited to perform with Yani Borrell, Conjunto Lacalu and the Juno-winning Cuban jazz pianist Hilario Duran and featured in various festivals across the city and beyond.
