Born in Cuba and now based in Toronto, Zamira Lacosta is a singer-songwriter whose music blends Afro-Cuban rhythms, flamenco, bolero, pop-rock, and soul. A former opera singer with more than a decade of classical training, she is known for her powerful voice, emotional depth, and captivating stage presence.
Joined by her band, Zamira will take audiences on a musical journey through original compositions and beloved Cuban classics, weaving together the sounds of bolero, cha-cha-cha, son, and guaracha. Inspired by legendary artists including Buena Vista Social Club, Omara Portuondo, Elena Burke, and Celia Cruz, her performance celebrates the soul, joy, nostalgia, and resilience of Cuba while honouring the roots that continue to shape her artistry.
