Polky

Polky is a fiddle-driven, feminist folk band bringing the vibrant sounds of Polish rural music to North American audiences. Led by Ewelina Ferenc, 2022 Canadian Folk Music Award winner for Traditional Singer of the Year, and multi-instrumentalist Marta Solek, the group blends traditional melodies with modern arrangements. Featuring rare instruments like the suka from Biłgoraj, a 19th-century reconstructed instrument from historical paintings, Polky creates music that bridges past and present. Their performances fuse raw fiddle energy, driving rhythms, and rich vocal harmonies, creating an authentic, high-energy experience that resonates across generations and cultures.
