The Howard Gladstone Band features Laura Fernandez on keyboards and vocals, Tony Quarrington on guitar, Bob Cohen on bass, and Ambrose Pottie on drums. These are the people who make the music what it is every month at the Tranzac — and this Sunday they’re firing on all cylinders. Shelley Coopersmith — one of Toronto’s most sought-after folk musicians — performs a 30-minute guest set of original and traditional songs on violin and mandolin, and joins the band on stage. She appears on several tracks of Howard’s upcoming new album Brief and Bright, due this fall, making this a rare preview of music you won’t hear anywhere else yet.
