A gifted songwriter and storyteller, Amanda Rheaume weaves history, resilience, and heart into her music, creating anthemic, guitar-driven songs that resonate across generations. A Citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario with deep Red River roots and Anishinaabe relations from Lac Seul, Rheaume’s performances are both a celebration of identity and an invitation to listen, learn, and connect. With a sound steeped in Heartland Rock and infused with the spirit of Métis fiddle and storytelling, Rheaume’s music expands the genre’s boundaries, giving voice to histories and experiences often left untold. Her newest album, The Truth We Hold, takes listeners on a journey across the homelands, uncovering moments that have shaped Métis history—from landmark court battles to hidden injustices—while celebrating the strength, joy, and interconnectedness of the Métis people. Beyond the stage, Rheaume is a tireless advocate and community builder, co-founding Ishkode Records and the International Indigenous Music Summit, and playing a key role in the Indigenous Music Office. Her commitment to raising Indigenous sovereignty in the music industry drives all her work, ensuring that Indigenous artists and stories are heard on their own terms.
