JazzInToronto presents:
An Intimate Evening w/ Meredith Moon at The Alpine
Internationally acclaimed musician performs up close and personal in the Junction!
Meredith Moon blends the raw spirit of traditional folk with a modern edge. Known for her powerful vocals and contemporary clawhammer banjo playing, she also weaves fingerstyle guitar, piano, and lap dulcimer into her performances. While rooted in old-time traditions, she brings a fresh, boundary-pushing energy that has earned her recognition in international folk and old-time music communities. She has performed at major Folk Festivals, toured extensively across North America, Central America, the UK, and Europe. In 2024, she made her debut on NPR’s Mountain Stage and has shared the stage with numerous respected artists in the folk and roots scenes.
Her debut album Forest Far Away (2018) was followed by Constellations (True North Records, 2023), which garnered international acclaim, earned a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination, and landed on the Folk Alliance International Top 10 Albums Chart for two consecutive months. Moon’s third album, From Here to the Sea (produced by Colin Linden) was released September 12th 2025, on Compass Records (Nashville, TN) and New Motor Records (Victoria, BC) (Warner Music Canada). This collection of songs takes a slight detour from the Appalachian old-time roots of the album’s predecessors, and features elements of blues, folk, folk-rock and old-time jazz, and remained in the top ten of several Canadian and US Americana Charts for months at a time, including the Alternative Country Chart. She is currently curating the songs for her upcoming album, which will be recorded in the summer of 2026.
