Borealis Big Band

Since 2017, the Aurora-based Borealis Big Band has been bringing the energy, excitement  and versatility of big band jazz to audiences. Our contemporary repertoire spans Swing,  Funk, Smooth Jazz, Latin and Cuban music, offering something for every jazz lover.

Over the years, Borealis Big Band has performed at venues including The Duke and The  Smokeshow in Toronto, as well as for audiences throughout Aurora, York Region and the  GTA.

Under the musical direction of Gord Shephard, Ph.D., Borealis Big Band is thrilled to make  its first appearance at The Rex and excited to bring our unique sound and energy to this  iconic jazz venue. Come join us for an afternoon of big band jazz, great energy and a whole  lot of fun!
