THE BRINK is a Toronto foursome playing sneaker-footed power-pop from the era of pinball machines and the Walkman™. Just two guitars, bass and drums, and a lot of what sounds like Chewbacca yodelling (sometimes in harmony). The band is made up of low-profile muckity-mucks who’ve been in the Inquisitors, Primordials, Midways, Whammies, and other T-dot unknowns. Catch their racket at the-brink.bandcamp.com!
Whether he’s in the institute or not Toronto based music artist, James Clark is a doctor of pop. His prescription is simple 3-minute blasts of medicinal music. Producer Moe Berg (TPOH; TransCanada Highwaymen) adds “James takes the power pop traditions of The Beatles, Jellyfish and Split Enz and combines them with the high IQ lyrics of Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson. The result makes him one of Canada’s greatest unsung songwriters.” The JCI’s latest single, Reluctantly In Love” charted internationally, hitting top 10 on indie charts in both the UK and US.
