Orbital Ensemble

Orbital Ensemble is a multicultural band that fuses vintage Brazilian tones with modern psychedelic and jazz influences, creating an immersive and eclectic sound. Blending dynamic grooves, soaring melodies, and explosive soundscapes, the group offers listeners a fresh and engaging musical journey. Rooted in Brazilian rhythms and keen to explore new sonic territories, Orbital Ensemble has a unique take on fusion music with a bold, contemporary approach. A brainchild of Brazilian composer and guitarist Felipe Sena, the band features Toronto jazz heavy-hitters and a variety of instruments such as flute and saxophone, drums and bass, Brazilian percussion, nylon guitar, keys, and psychedelic electric guitar. The band’s debut album Orbital was released internationally through We Are Busy Bodies (Canada) and Balaclava Records (Brazil). The release received strong critical acclaim and international media attention. The band has performed at prominent Ontario festivals, including Do West Fest, Mixto Festival, River & Sky, Highlands Music Festival, Oscillitarium, and Project Nowhere. The band released their second live EP in November 2025 and is releasing a new LP in the summer 2026.
