JazzFest – Tyler Emond’s Teenage Wasp

More information from Toronto Jazz Festival Teenage Wasp is the seminal jazz group led by Tyler Emond, an acclaimed bassist, composer, and record producer based in Toronto. Teenage Wasp music is a wild mix of Ellington jazz, modern classical, and 70’s soul, giving listeners depth to contemplate while bopping their heads at the same time. Joined by Ewen Farncombe on piano and Jeff Halischuk on drums, the trio seamlessly slip in and out of improvised and composed music leaving audiences thrilled. Emond’s career as a bassist has covered jazz, classical, baroque, classical Arabic, pop, soul, experimental electronica, and much more. For 25 years Emond has toured North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and continues to be a busy recording musician and producer. He has performed with Kevin Breit, Sundar Viswanathan’s Avataar, Alessia Cara, Hiromi, Dinuk Wijeratne, Ahmed Moneka, The Shuffle Demons, Marito Marques, Fethi Nadjem, Mark Kelso’s Jazz Exiles, Michael Occhipinti & Shine On, Randy Brecker, Selcuk Suna, Del Dako, Tyler Shaw, BANNERS, Matt Dusk, Charbel Rouhana, Dave Douglas, Naseer Shamma, and Elmer Ferrer.
