The Jesse Dietschi Trio strives to bring together elements of both modern jazz and contemporary classical chamber music using original compositions to balance both improvisation and contemporary classical textures. Listeners can expect to hear cinematic stories without words, with both the intricacies of carefully crafted scenes with the excitement and energy of spontaneous creation. Leader, bassist, and composer Jesse Dietschi has been called a “virtuoso” by DownBeat Magazine, and a “musical contrabassist” by The WholeNote. He is an active freelance jazz upright and electric bassist, a member of the Hamilton Philharmonic, and performs regularly as an extra section bassist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
