The Sauce Piquante Soundsystem

The Sauce Piquante Soundsystem is the live experience of Montreal kitchen party label MTL Sauce Piquante. It is made up of producer and DJ Oonga, singers and rappers KC and Gioco, along with a rotating cast of party animal musicians based in Montreal. It was formed in the summer of 2023 in Oonga’s kitchen after an MTL Sauce Piquante showcase was rained out and the musicians had nowhere to go. The group has been building its following in Montreal through the power of its live performances, full of party-starting improvisations over home-cooked instrumentals, with performances at festivals including Nuits d’Afrique, SRXP, Verdun 150, Entrepôt 77 and more. The first MTL Sauce Piquante album, Cracher le feu, came out in June 2024.
