Allison Lee brings her classmates and friends from The Juilliard School, along with a set of music exploring the relationship and history between Canadian and American contributions to jazz. As a Canadian citizen, it has been her goal to connect the close-knit musical communities in Canada with the friends and collaborators she has worked with in New York, in an effort to build bridges between regional communities that share a love of jazz. This is her debut show at The Rex Hotel Jazz and Blues Bar, and she is excited to share her musical experiences with her friends.
Allison Lee is a bassist from Vancouver, BC. She has performed at various music festivals, including the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival and MusicFest Canada. When she isn’t performing or practicing, Lee works as a marketing coordinator for Vancouver-based record label Rhea Records (co-founded by Jodi Proznick) and as a graphic designer for performing jazz artists. Lee is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies at the Juilliard School.
